hi! my name is thierry doizon aka barontieri and i grew up surrounded by lemurs in Madagascar, spent my college years in Mali and eventually got a diploma of Industrial Design in southern France. however, it is only after receiving a BA (Hons) in Interior Design from the UCA of Rochester, UK in 1995, that i fell into the weird world of Entertainment.
i have been an active concept designer/art director in the gaming industry and the online communities of digital concept artists since the early speedpainting days. I've had the privilege of working for different companies around the globe such as Cryo Interactive, Acclaim Studios, Splash Damage, Ubisoft, Disney Interactive, Eidos and Square-Enix on titles like Assassin’s Creed, Prince of Persia, Tron Legacy, Deus Ex: HR, Warp, Shape Up, Lara Croft GO, Deus Ex GO... and countless more.
in the meantime, i was invited to speak at various workshops and conferences (Disney Imagineering, ADAPT, Ubisoft Campus, The Gnomon Workshop, MIGS, FIEA, Massive Black, SSGOM) and also co-founded Steambot Studios (Exodyssey, Steampainting) which i eventually left to focus on a diverse array of personal projects including illustrations, exhibitions, sport events, art-books and teaching. As of 2016 i moved to a new adventure as the director of studies at Syn Studio in Montreal, and also reunited with my old friends from Austin to start expeditionart.org. when not roaming around the continent with my van, you may find me snowskating the local mountains or paddle-boarding on the rapids of the St-Laurent river, thanks for your interest and see you soon :)
