Thierry AKA barontieri grew up surrounded by lemurs in Madagascar, spent his college years in Mali and eventually got a diploma of Industrial Design in southern France. However, it is only after receiving a BA (Hons) in Interior Design from the UCA of Rochester, UK in 1995 (yup that's far), that he fell into the weird world of Entertainment.
He has been an active concept designer/art director in the gaming industry and the online communities of digital concept artists since the early speedpainting days. Thierry has had the privilege of working for different companies around the globe such as Acclaim Studios, Splash Damage, Ubisoft, Disney Interactive, Eidos, Square-Enix where he was a driving force behind titles like Assassin’s Creed, Prince of Persia, Tron Legacy, Deus Ex: HR, Lara Croft GO... and countless more.
In the meantime, he was invited to speak at various workshops and conferences (Disney Imagineering, ADAPT, Ubisoft Campus, The Gnomon Workshop, MIGS, FIEA, Massive Black and SSGM), Thierry was a co-founder of Steambot Studios (Exodyssey, Steampainting) which he eventually left to focus on a diverse array of personal projects including illustrations, sport events, art-books, Expedition Art and teaching concept art.
He is an extreme sports and outdoor enthusiast so you may find him snowskating the local mountains or SUP surfing in the rapids of the St-Laurent.
